About Image Compressor
Image Compressor shrinks photos to a specific target file size — 20 KB, 100 KB or any custom value. It runs a quality binary search in your browser, retrying JPEG encodes at different quality levels until the output lands within ±5% of the goal.
Output is always JPEG, regardless of input format. Photos compress well; sharp-edged graphics or text screenshots may show JPEG artefacts at low targets — those are better off staying PNG. If a very small target can't be hit by quality alone, the compressor falls back to scaling the image down, which lowers the effective resolution.
